VISION

To Love Jesus

Live by the Bible.

“And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:3 (ESV)

“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.’” John 6:35 (ESV)

Live grateful for grace.

“For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15 (ESV)

To Love Each Other

Live focused on family.

Live caring in community.

Live witnessing to the world.

Grace comes to us through Jesus from the heart of God opening our arms to the world. May our church be a community where His strong rest is available to all weary. May our hearts overflow with grateful awe as we celebrate Christ with you.

VALUES

“And they sang a new song, saying,

‘Worthy are you to take the scroll
    and to open its seals,
for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation,
and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,
and they shall reign on the earth.’”

Revelation 5:9-10

Worship

Worship. Hearts overflow with delighted adoration at seeing God, who is supremely worthy. This laying down of our lives continues beyond corporate gathering. We’re a singing people celebrating Christ our inheritance.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Romans 12:1 (ESV)

“For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh—” Philippians 3:3 (ESV)

“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29 (ESV)

Worship Celebration Services are Sunday mornings at 10:00.

Community

Community is having place or characteristic in common. At BCBC, diverse individuals join together as followers of Jesus Christ, the Gospel uniting us.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!  Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (ESV)

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)

Community Groups meet about every other week.

Student Ministries meet the alternate week.

Growth

Spiritual growth is more than simply increasing our intellectual knowledge or conforming to a set of established rules or principles. It is an ongoing process of being conformed into the image of Jesus Christ.

“to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,Ephesians 4:12-15 (ESV)

“for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.Hebrews 5:13-14 (ESV)

We distinguish between being an Equipping Oriented Church rather than an Event Oriented Church.

Service

Satisfaction comes when, motivated by our love for Jesus Christ, we use our gifts and desires to serve others.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 (ESV)

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:” 1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)
